You might have Denti-Cal!

“…Unfortunately, many Medi-Cal recipients do not know they have dental coverage. Those who do know they have coverage often do not know what treatment they can obtain and have a hard time accessing benefits.

This new fact sheet, DentiCal for Adults, explains the basics of DentiCal coverage, how to access benefits, and provides a summary of what benefits are covered.”

Fact Sheet provided by Justice in Aging.

Queer Caregiver Support Group – Women Supporting Female Partners

When aging intersects with being queer/alphabet, we need community resources that understand the specific concerns that arise from being part of two oppressed social categories.

This support group for women caring for sick or elderly women partners has been held for about a year and has been a good resource for many. It is now opening up to more participants–please see the flyer below and contact Patricia to RSVP or find out more!

Legal Assistance for Low-Income Clients

Recently, I received a call from an elder who needed legal advice regarding their credit card debt. For low-income seniors (and non-seniors), there are legal advocacy resources in Alameda County and the bay area that you can explore:

*Bay Area Legal Aid for Alameda County

**Volunteer Legal Services Corporation

Both provide legal assistance for FREE! There is also a free drop-in legal clinic coming up in February 2017, held by Volunteer Legal Services (please see flyer below for more info).

As always, please feel free to call us if you need help navigating these resources. We’re here to help you.

Best,
