The 2018 African American Caregiving & Wellness Forum is FREE, open to the public, with on-site respite available for caregivers to bring their loved ones in their care. The Forum will be held at the Ed Roberts Campus in Berkeley on Saturday, 4/21 from 8:30am to 2pm. The program begins at 9:15am, and there will be a complimentary lunch and health screening for everyone.
The Alzheimer’s Association is offering a free 6-week educational series offering a comprehensive overview of Alzheimer’s and related dementias, as well as tips, strategies, and resources for navigating this complex and often challenging disease. On July 26th, 2017, Justice in Aging will hold SSI mini-trainings on (1) helping people with SSI overpayments and (2) current topics in policy advocacy at the federal, state and local level; a presentation on IHSS hot topics including the 2017-18 California state budget, and the federal efforts to repeal the ACA and fundamentally change Medicaid; and a roundtable discussion of current issues and trends, and how to expand advocacy efforts locally, statewide, and nationally.
